The properties that breast milk possesses are not present in anything even if lots of minerals and vitamins are added to it. For an infant breast milk is the best as it gives complete nutrition for infants.

Not only does breast feeding enhances the bond between a child and mother but also ensure a healthy life for the child. It is important to know why breast feeding is important as this affects the life of a child. There are many benefits of breast milk such as it gives protection against many illnesses and also diminishes the risk of stomach upsets. Breast milk protect from allergies, botulism, meningitis and other severe diseases which can harm a child’s health. Even the risk of deficiency of vitamin E and Iron or tooth decay is reduced by breast milk. A child is less likely to get obese if he gets breast milk properly.

Breast feeding not only benefits a child but also provide many benefits to a mother that is why breast feeding is important. If a mother breastfeed a child then this will reduce the risk of cervical, ovarian and even breast cancer. It also diminishes the risk of women mortality and anemia. Mothers can get back to the state that was previous to pregnancy which means they can lose weight quickly which has been put on during pregnancy. If one takes into account the long term benefits then one can understand the importance of breast feeding. As breast fed babies are less sick this reduces the cost of health care. There are many other benefits which may not seem to be very important but do affect the life of both a child and mother. For mothers who have to travel a lot breast feeding is very convenient as the milk is always present and there is no need to sterile it before feeding.

The bond between a mother and child becomes stronger and it also makes the mother feel good.
