The Summer is fast approaching. When you’re young, who isnt seeking out that perfect summer job- Internships are a good way to realize experience, but where do you look in finding them- And how did you know its the proper internship for you-
Lets face it it still makes just a little more sense to do the bit of extra work in finding an internship concerning your interests and future career goals than to take the simple way out and grab a role at the nearest fast food restaurant. And truly, when it’s far 90 degrees outside, do you actually need to be in your way home smelling like hot greasy fries- I dont think so.
So how can a young high school or college student find a pleasant, reputable and productive summer internship- Look to the good, reputable and productive larger companies for opportunities.
Every state has multiple larger companies in search of just the appropriate summer intern to assist in precisely about any task. In Minnesota, companies like 3M, Target and General Mills patrol the local colleges and high schools for college kids trying to gain work experience and a bit of additional cash by joining their summer internship programs.
Inside the Bay Area, McKesson leading provider of healthcare technologies offers a Summer Youth Development Program which places area students inside the corporate offices for 8 weeks. Here the students attend performance seminars and training workshops to arrange the students for the career world.
In each of these summer internship programs, larger corporations offer training on resume writing, business etiquette, interview performance, leadership skills and school and career options. Also, each student gains the experience of working with many of the most well-known and reputable companies on earth.
So students, look somewhat harder this year for that more cash you will want between semesters. The experience you gain is invaluable and might bring you to a far better professional level.
