We live in a fast paced world. Much of society is always in a hurry. Sometimes that means we neglect our health and wellness. Neglecting our health can cause many bad things to happen. Many times people who are having a bad day say they got up on the wrong side of the bed. Chances are they did not three simple things to ensure their day started off on the right foot.
Many people think that a well balance breakfast consists of pancakes covered in syrup, crispy bacon, and sweet, cold orange juice. While it may have carbohydrates, fats, and sugars, these carbohydrates, fats, and sugars are not good for you. You want to eat the good carbohydrates. Good carbohydrates will give you energy and keep you full throughout the day. The thing that keeps you full longer and gives you energy is Fiber. Good carbohydrates consist of whole grain cereals and fruit. Drinking juice does not count as eating fruit. Juice is loaded with extra sugar that is not good for you. Choose foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals. These vitamins and minerals will give your body the energy it needs to function. If you body does not have certain vitamins and minerals, it cannot function.
Multivitamins are a great way to fill in the gap. They provide the body with the vitamins and minerals we do not get in our foods. Even though you may plan your meals carefully, you can’t always get every vitamin you need. There are many vitamins that are essential; among them is the B-complex vitamin. This one is especially important to for breaking down carbohydrates to give us energy, our growth and development, breaking down fats, and keeping our hair, skin, and nails healthy. They also help our nervous system work properly. One of the most important B-complex vitamins for pregnant women or women who can become pregnant is Folic Acid. Folic Acid prevents spina bifida and anemia. The B-complex vitamins can be found in fruits, whole grains cereals, fish, vegetables, milk, eggs, and rice. Multivitamins ensure that mother and baby are getting their proper nutritional needs.
Hygiene is also an important thing to remember when starting your day off right. There are many aspects to hygiene. Oral hygiene is an especially important part of hygiene. Brushing and flossing your teeth daily is vital for good oral health. When you are brushing your teeth you think you got everything, but there are tiny bacteria in between your teeth that your toothbrush can’t reach. If it is not taken care of the bacteria can build up and cause gingivitis. Flossing is a quick thing you can do in the morning that can save you money and pain later on.
These are basic things which many of us learned when we were younger. But the demands of our busy schedule keep us from doing some of the simplest things in the morning to have a good day.

Low Back Pain Relief Hit with a Baseball Bat Hello, I am Dr. Darrel Hestdalen and I would like to share a story with you that is similar to what I have seen happen many times in the past 30 years. Kirk had just got home and the door bell rang. As Kirk bent over to straighten the rug by the door he was hit in the back with a baseball bat. Well that is how he described the sudden pain that he felt. The pain was excruciating and he could not stand up. He went to the floor trying to find a position to relieve the pain. Kirk had not had any significant low back problems. He was a former athlete and was in relatively good shape. He had not felt any strain to his back from any recent activity. Why did his back go out? In my 30 years of clinical experience I have found most of these types of acute low back had a similar underlying cause. Their second brain was abused. Your second brain is that complex nervous system that controls the harmony of all of your internal organ and most of the digestive process. We have become experts at abusing the second brain. This leads to an energy imbalance, tissue breakdown, a toxic body burden and several other responses that give us a variety of health problems. In the case of Kirk, he had experienced several stresses that had put a considerable drain on the energy of his digestive organs. The digestive organs have priority over other tissues. There are 3 tissue energy levels. These are the skin and nerves, the connective tissue and the internal organs. Allergies, skin conditions, muscle and joint pain or any chronic condition will b related to this dysfunction.
I recently treated a lady after a 10 day trip. Her schedule of activity, eating and rest were altered. Her complaint was neck tension that probably was related to a 2 day car ride. Her support muscles of the low back and neck were in dysfunction. Also her immune system and hormone balance were stressed as indicated by her acupressure points. When Kirk bent over the muscle responded to slowly to give him the proper support and motion and his back went out. The immediate spasm and pain would feel like being hit with a baseball bat. Could Kirk have avoided his acute low back problem? Yes he could have.
By a few lifestyle changes and simple massage to the acupressure points for the second brain he could have avoided this painful problem. The problem was that he did not know about his second brain.
