Only by chewing, a person may feel full. That’s the latest discovery of Dutch researchers who successfully developed. Scientists create food with a flavor that can suppress hunger.
This discovery is expected to help those who are difficult to control the appetite and also obese.
Rianne Ruijschop and his colleagues have long to design foods that can overcome hunger and enhance satiety without adding calories into the body. And finally after several years of study, the food was finally realized.
Foods that will trigger a sense of satiety, because the aroma is released during the chew that contains an active molecule that can send signals satiety to the brain.
“So, just by chewing, the feeling of satiety will arise,” said Ruijschop, as quoted from HealthDay.
In his study, found that the aroma synthesis Ruijschop made in the laboratory managed to influence the person’s brain to stop eating.
Although proven to reduce hunger in some panelists, but Ruijschop hoping to do clinical studies in a larger scale.
Another expectation is that the smell triggers a sense of satiety that can be applied successfully made the producers of the food industry to reduce levels of obesity that is increasingly increasing in number.
