If you see a man whose legs could not keep still, it could be a sign that he was having erection problems. Researchers say, the man who often move a leg or is known as Restless Leg Syndrome (the RLS) may have erectile problems.

Two seemingly unrelated diseases are closely related. Dr. Xiang Gao, of Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, conducted a study of 23 000 men in 2000. During the four years, participants are asked about the ability of erection, with the scale of bad to very good.

All the participants did not have diabetes or arthritis, which is a trigger factor Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS). But surprisingly, as many as 944 men experience RLS syndrome.

Having investigated further, it turns out 53 percent of participants who experienced the syndrome RLS also experience erectile problems. From there researchers speculate that there is a relation between the syndrome with an erection.

RLS is a neurological disease caused by unwanted sensation in the feet and uneasiness that encourages the foot to make uncontrolled movements. RLS sufferers are always moving his feet to soothe feelings.

Unwanted sensations in patients with RLS them is feeling the heat, like a jerk or an insect moving in the foot. RLS sufferers often feel these sensations when sitting or lying down. Sensations that appear occasionally in the night this happened in the knee to the ankle and will end up in the morning.

Patients with RLS often have difficulty sleeping, feeling thirsty, tired in the daytime, difficulty concentrating and have the ability to remember that low. Some people often underestimate this syndrome and felt no need to be treated, but if allowed to continue to be influential in everyday activities.

Researchers suspect the condition associated with lack of hormone dopamine (the hormone that triggers feelings of calm, happy and comfortable) in the brain. This study could be a reference for dealing with erection problems in men. Men with erectile disorder may be treated with medication for RLS sufferers.

“So if you are a man and had symptoms of RLS, there may be a good idea to check with your genitals also know there is the possibility of erectile disorder or not,” said Dr. Thomas Pollmacher from Ingolstadt Hospital, Germany, told Health24.
