Hot Scrotal Causes Male Infertility

If you have a job that lead to your reproductive heat for hours or even all day, like driving a motorcycle, be wary of bad possibilities that can be happened to your reproductive machinery.

Prof. Dr. Sp And Nukman Moeloek said that the situation affected scrotal heat for hours or even a day can increase infertility in men.

“Normal scrotal temperature is 34 degrees Celsius, when there is very little temperature rise, approximately 36-38 degrees Celsius, and this happens for hours, can cause ‘varicocele’ which is a major cause of infertility in men,” said professor Andrology Medical and Biological FKUI as quoted by detikHealth.

Infertility in men is an issue that is troubling, especially when they have couple. According to Prof. Dr.Ismail Tambi of the University Kebangsaan, Kuala Lumpur, 15% of couples experiencing infertility problems, and 30-50% was caused by men who are infertile.

“This is because most men still do not open undergone various tests related to reproductive health problems,” said Prof. Tambi in the seminar “Genetic Variation and Implications on Reproductive Health Issues”.

Reproductive problems commonly experienced by men, one of them is ‘retrograde ejaculation’, ie problems that arise when it reaches a climax, but can not fill out the sperm.

“It was like going to pee, but could not,” says Prof. Tambi.

These problems can be overcome if you get the right treatment. “Handling the right to see the first contributing factor, and its success or ‘the end point’ which is pregnancy,” he added.

The factors that cause male infertility is quite a lot like:

1. Have a history or health problems such as drug use.
2. Have surgery in the past.
3. Lifestyle that is less good (smoking, diet, etc.)
4. Genetic factors.
5. Job factors that cause fertility problems.
6. Men who have chronic liver disease, anemia, nerve damage, and the use of drugs that contain steroids may cause fertility problems.

Prof. Tambi also revealed that the most cases of male infertility caused by varicocele (47.2%) factors and other factors that are not known or idiopathic as much as 22.7%.

Generally the two biggest factors can be handled, but there is others that can not be handled, specially if he has a family history of infertility also. But if the cause is the pattern of life (life style) which is not good, it can be handle.

After learning that you as a man having infertile then what to do? Immediately consult to a physician. Infertility examination would be better if done by husband and wife, but better to put the man first.

“The test of infertility in men more easily than in women, because men are enough to pull out his  sperm, while women rather complicated”, said Prof. Nukman.

These sperm tests include sperm analysis (pull out the sperm using the soap / oil), antibody tests, sperm density, scrotal form, the number of sperm (normally 15 million sperm / ml), and the volume / density of scrotal. Treatment can be performed by the help of medication, surgery, ‘assisted reproduction’ and artificial insemination.
