  1. Reduce outside food consumption. “At the crisis you still can eating healthy foods and do not exceed the budget,” says Bethany Thayer of the American Dietetic Association, “It only takes a little extra planning and extra thoughts”.
  2. Begin eating homemade food. “Make a meal consisting of raw materials because fast food was very expensive,” she said.
  3. Make a list of what items should be purchased at the supermarket, it can help to not buy things that are not needed.
  4. Take advantage of seasonal products. “Seasonal products will have a cheaper price, beside that if you want to buy foods that are easily damaged, purchase as needed for consumption only, do not be tempted by the special price”.
  5. Keep foods that are not easily damaged. Fruits and vegetables can sometimes be less expensive because it can last longer and remain fresh. “Buying food in large quantities is also good if the food used before rotting,” she said.
  6. Buy a cheap source of protein. “Nuts are very cheap and rich in protein and fiber and more versatile,” she said. “Many variations of beans that can be used only by mixing it and non-fat milk is also good for other protein sources.
