Asthma is one of the hereditary disease, which causes the sufferer it difficult to breathe properly. Now, natural health researchers have discovered a new breathing technique that can be used to counter an asthma attack.

Breathing techniques to fight asthma has been developed by Thomas Ritz and Alicia Meuret from the Faculty of Psychology, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, United States. Previously this technique has been taught in patients with asthma during the four weeks about how to control your asthma condition as well as change the way in order to breathe better.

During asthma attacks, patients tend to hyperventilate, breathing fast and deep to the airway is limited to counter feelings of lack of oxygen. This will make matters worse, because of lower carbon dioxide levels that restrict blood flow to the brain. If it continues for a long time can irritate the throat, which are sensitive.

Patients with asthma who continue to breathe in excess, has a risk of experiencing a chronic shortage of carbon dioxide could make it more susceptible to asthma attacks in the future.

Ritz and Meuret develop a breathing technique called Capnometry-Assisted Respiratory Training (CART), which teaches people with asthma to normalize and reverse the excessive breathing.

This health care technique uses a handheld device called the capnometer to measure the amount of carbon dioxide as a sigh. By using this tool, patients learn how to breathe more slowly and more regularly.

These CART technique can have a positive impact on the quality of asthma care and reduce treatment for acute asthma, “says Ritz, quoted from Health24′s health care information.

Ritz added that this type of respiratory therapy may limit the frequency of asthma attacks and prevent the occurrence of something more serious. This could mean fewer doctor visits and reduce the use of drugs. That way the people with asthma can save money and time. This breathing technique will provide better treatment, so the quality of life of people with asthma will also be higher as well as help with asthma control of himself.
